welcome

Lately I’m drawn to a more solitary life. I get inspiration from music, nature, art, books and film. And above all, through introspection and exploration of my unconscious. These days my art is influenced by the myths, symbols and archetypes in Jungian psychology, particularly as written in Clarissa Pinkola Estes’ Women Who Run with the Wolves. If the collective consciousness is floating down a river, I have a firm grip on the bank and I’m pulling myself out.

I’ve been called a ‘truth teller’ at times, but I’ve gotta say, I’ve told myself a lot of lies. Still, I can’t remember a time when seeking what’s not visible from the surface isn’t what motivated me to keep on.

Oscar Wilde wrote that, where there is sorrow, there is holy ground. At this time, I’m focused on discovering that holy ground, recovering the parts of my psyche I cast out to survive, and using photography and poetry to express my journey of ordinary and wonder, pain and joy.
